If you ever try to move a Corvette shell, you'll find out it's not as light as you may think. Anyway, let's get down to the numbers: 68 Firebird 400 3450 lbs. 69 Corvette L88 3419 lbs. With just 31 lbs difference, any weight advantage or disadvantage in a race is negligible.

indeed, especially since they weighed soooooo much more than a corvette, its bigger and has a steel body vs the smaller and fiberglass corvette body, i would still get a corvette over a trans am/firebird any day but thats just me
